The Diploma in Creative Jewellery

 

The Diploma in Creative Jewellery is a year-long (1 day a week) practical course suitable for beginners and improver level jewellers looking to train in a wide variety of techniques including traditional silver work and more contemporary, metal clay, glass, resin, perspex and more. All classes are held in our Central London studios and materials are provided.

What You Will Learn

Over the three terms you will cover a huge range of different mediums to wok in and techniques. Some of these include:

  • Traditional silver work techniques

  • Making rings, pendants and charms in metal clay

  • Fused glass and enamelling

  • Drawing and design

  • Skills to run a jewellery business

  • Working in perspex, resin and much more.

Who is this Diploma for?

We welcome students of all ages and backgrounds and often have a diverse group. Some students use the course to launch a jewellery business, to experiment with a second career in jewellery or as an alternative to a degree.

This Diploma is aimed at beginners and improver level jewellers and we cover from the basics through to advanced techniques by the end of the year. If you are looking for a part-time year long course training you to a professional level the Diploma is for you.

What our Students go on to do next?

Many students go on to start their own jewellery businesses, some set up shops selling their work, some go into further training in jewellery to hone their craft and others work in the field of jewellery.

Some simply enjoy the year and carry on making after for their pleasure!

Course timings:

The course runs over 3 terms each lasting 12 weeks and classes take place one day per week during term time.  

Classes run on the same day each week from 10am-5pm with a one hour lunch break from approx. 1 – 2pm. Each term has 10 teaching days, 1 workbench day and 1 marking day as well as a half-day induction on term 1 and a group trip on terms 2 & 3.  


Fees and booking

There are 2 options in terms of paying for your diploma course to give you maximum flexibility. These are: 

Option 1: 

Pay the full amount of the course at the time of booking

Option 2: 

Four instalments of £975 

Instalment 1: at time of booking 

Instalment 2: before start of term 1 

Instalment 3: payable at end of term 1 

Instalment 4: payable at the start of term 2 

Total course fees £3900
